For my blog I’ve decided to put a twist on travel. Throughout my journeys I always strive to emerge myself within the culture surrounding me. I want to use this platform to share my past endeavors and the lifestyle that each new place has shaped for me.
As a journalism major I want to be able to relay my personal travels through not only my writing, but also my photos and videos. Documenting the trips I’ve taken has always been a crucial aspect of my excursions in order to share the experiences with others. This mindset is beneficial to the reporting I hope to one day do. As an international correspondent I would be able to combine my attraction to world traveling with my interest in broadcast journalism.
I would consider travel to be my main passion in life. My longing for adventure began in my high school years and has only increased with each new trip. I desire to expand others knowledge of the world and the areas they have never seen by sharing my insight of the corners where I have been.
It wasn’t until I was brainstorming my role models for this type of work that it hit me - I’ve been actively following multiple travel focused blogs for a while now. I stumbled upon many of these bloggers while scrolling through my Instagram and finding various pictures that peaked my interest. Amber Fillerup Clark is a world-travelling, business starting, blogging mom of two (soon to be three) who I have kept up with for 2 years. While her blog could fit the category of lifestyle, she frequently highlights the trips and details of the expeditions she embarks on alongside her family. Social media has played a major role in my appeal to sightseeing around the world, which speaks volumes about the audience I wish to reach. Young adults with an interest in capturing personal experiences and then posting about them is the crowd I currently relate to.
I intend to dive deep into the waters of the world through this blog and re-explore the countries and cities that captured my heart during my visit.
