Forecast for Florence

Hurricane Florence is on the move towards the East coast striking fear into those living in the Carolinas with its potential to hit as soon as Friday afternoon.

Labeled a category 4 storm this hurricane has not gained or lost strength in the the past few days. An estimated 130 mph sustained winds are headed South bringing with it flooding rains and a wave of panic for citizens on the coast.

“Time is running out,” Weather Channel meteorologist Domenica Davis said.

Less than 600 miles from the coastline this storm is not losing it’s intensity. This 10 ft storm surge is predicted to cause 40 inches of rain.

“Landfall timing is getting trickier,” Davis said. “We could see flooding catastrophic rain as far west as Athens, Columbia and Charlotte.”

While the inland will be hit by this hurricane, meteorologists are still unable to forecast when it will arrive. Beginning as early as Friday it is believed that severe rain will continue throughout the weekend.
