The Safe Haven of Southport

You can achieve the perfect weekend getaway in the quaint town of Southport, NC. With a downtown area just minutes from the beach, you can't go wrong with this destination, which just happened to be the location for the major motion picture 'Safe Haven'.

My friend Taylor lives in this sweet southern city and invited my roommate, Cailyn, and I to join her for a weekend away from HPU. After a short 3 hour drive we arrived at a picteresque house where we got to stay for a few days.

We spent the majority of our time on the beach. Sandwiches from the local deli made for the perfect picnic while we watched the many other people enjoying the weather along with us. After a walk to the pier we chose to head to Southport's downtown.

Window shopping the small boutiques that line the downtown street while sipping on coffee I enjoyed the time basking in my friend's company. Cailyn and I ended the weekend by stopping for ice cream at a local creamery to meet another friend before hitting the road back to HPU. It made for the perfect ending to a perfect weekend.
