Wedding Weekend

One of the best excuses to travel is for a wedding. I recently traveled to Kansas City for a wedding weekend and while it was fun it was also fast.

As a solo traveller the flights and layovers were nice because they allowed for undisturbed reading time, which doesn't come often while at school with so much work. As most people usually are, I was ecstatic to be a part of my friend, Maggie's, special day and for the little travel adventure that accompanied it.

Primarily being a two day trip we had to pack a lot of activities into the day leading up to the "I do's".

We kicked off Saturday in Missouri with brunch for the bridesmaids and Mom's of the bride and groom. After eating all the girls were pampered with fresh mani pedis before checking into the hotel located near the venue. Once settled it was already time to get ready for the rehearsal. A successful wedding rehearsal was followed by the rehearsal dinner which was all fun and laughter, a night that truly celebrated the family dynamic of the couple.

As one of the bridesmaids who hadn't seen Maggie in almost a year due to the distance between us, it was so special to spend Saturday night celebrating her before her big day.

Sunday morning came with excitement and anticipation as all the girls got ready for the walk down the aisle. Before we knew it pictures had been taken, guests had been seated and it was time for the event that everyone had gathered for.

Aside from the beauty of the venue, Maggie was absolutely stunning and the picture of perfection. I couldn't have dreamed up a better day of love and celebration that I was lucky enough to be a part of.

It was such an honor to be by Maggie's side as she married the man of her dreams and walked with confidence into her future. I was so inspired by the love they had for each other and the love they thanked God for granting them.

It was so sweet to be able to see the city in which Maggie grew up, and share a part of her past and present with her before it was time for me to return to High Point.
